Statement Regarding Online Allegations

We are aware of ongoing online activity spreading false and misleading claims about our business and the welfare of our animals. We are also aware of targeted online abuse directed at our staff and family.

Such conduct may constitute defamation, harassment, or malicious communication under UK law, including

We are therefore keeping full records of this behaviour and are taking advice from legal representatives and the relevant authorities.

The welfare of our rabbits has always been, and remains, of the highest importance to us. All rabbits at the tearoom are neutered, chipped, vaccinated, and receive monthly veterinary visits. There is no intentional breeding taking place. Any previous instances of rabbits having litters occurred naturally when a rescue rabbit was incorrectly sexed prior to arrival.

We have also completed a Diploma in Rabbit Welfare and implemented every recommendation made by both the RSPCA and local council, following their recent visits in which they confirmed they have no ongoing concerns.

Unfortunately, many of the images and claims being circulated are over a year old and have been taken out of context to fit a false narrative. The conditions and care practices shown in those pictures do not reflect the current reality.

The original petition, created in August 2025, requested that the authorities inspect our animals. This was carried out. The authorities made minor recommendations which we immediately addressed. Both the RSPCA and the council are now satisfied and have closed their investigations.

We therefore ask that anyone wishing to comment or form an opinion does so based on verified facts, not on outdated information or hearsay from social media.

False statements and defamatory content cause serious harm to small, family-run businesses. We are grateful to those who have taken the time to understand the full picture and who continue to visit and support us in person.

Our focus remains on providing a welcoming, positive space for our guests and ensuring that our animals continue to receive the care, attention, and respect they deserve.
